Our To Do List Plugin has just had its first significant upgrade. :-)

The most significant changes are:

  • Support for multiple users. Every user of the blog can maintain their own list! Plugin automatically monitors who is logged in and displays the appropriate to do list.
  • To Do List is now available as a dashboard widget for convenience, and accessibility.
  • List saved in the database not as a text file.
  • When a user is deleted from the blog, their to do list is deleted too automatically.

Here is a screen shot of the latest version of the To Do List WordPress Plugin:

I’ve been using this plugin for a while, and while it always worked great for me, the new features are definitely appreciated!

Some very nice features coming! I sent him a list of things which I felt would make the todo list even better. I run a community newspaper and have 20+ volunteer writers. I wanted a way to allow an editor assign tasks to a writer via their dashboard.

Hi Bill,

Thanks for your comments, always good to get feedback. I am already working on implementing the to do list inside the dashboard, but I like the idea to have it so that each user on the blog gets access to their own list when logged in. I will take a look at this and squeeze it into the next version time permitting. Also, I will add a facility for administrators only to view/edit any to do list. This would be useful for administrators to insert items on other peoples lists that need doing without having to send e-mails etc. everything would be self contained.

Give it a couple of weeks (hopefully less) and the new version should be ready to go. Otherwise you can always re-install the current version and wait for the auto update prompt from within your admin area.

Best wishes,
David

I want to thank gwycon for his hard work on this plugin!

I’ve just found another ToDo Plugin by Pravin Paratey in the repository. As a news type site as well I needed the ability to provide notification to writers about assignments and to allow admin and editors to create these assignments. So I’ve edited in a dashboard feature and email notification of each assignment to the writer. You can set a writers list from which to select or choose from the entire user base. No fancy stuff. I can send you my updated version so you can give it a try.

Hi,
I’d like to uninstall the Our To Do plugin, but when I do, everything keeps showing up exactly as if it was still activated. Could you please give me directions to completely remove it?
I just don’t need it anymore. Thanks,
Diego

Really do not know the cause of this, as I have not had any other reports of anything like this happening. If all else fails you can remove the ‘to-do-list’ folder inside of your Plugins folder via FTP. Then it won’t be active anymore.
