To Do List 1.0 – WordPress Plugin

Our latest WordPress Plugin – ‘To Do List’ 1.0 has just been completed, and is available now for download. :)

It is compatible with the latest version of WordPress 2.7.1, and allows Blog owners to keep track of common tasks, by filling in the information in a text field in the Plugin Options page. This is then saved to a text file when the update button is clicked

The Plugin automatically checks to see if magic quotes are turned on, on your server. If so, the text entered in the To Do List text box is automatically stripped of escape characters (backslashes). Otherwise the text is left unchanged.

The To Do List Plugin has now been uploaded to the WordPress Plugins Directory. Also check out our To Do List page for more information on this Plugin.

As always, let us know what you think!

I’m getting an error across all page when this plugin is activated:

Warning: file_get_contents(../wp-content/plugins/to-do-list/to-do-list.txt) [function.file-get-contents]: failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /home/laurdav7/public_html/staging/wp-content/plugins/to-do-list/to-do-list.php on line 71

    Hi Joey,

The problem you are having looks like the Plugin can’t find the to-do-list.txt file that stores the contents of your list. I have had no other problems reported similar to this, and it has been tested – so I am thinking it is perhaps a Plugin conflict, or the way WordPress is set-up on your site. Is it installed in the root directory, or in a sub directory?

Also, before you try anything else, I have just released a new version of the Plugin (v1.02). This uses a slightly different method to find the Plugin folder and is better than the previous method used.

This may not definitely fix your problem but I have a feeling it might. Install the new version and let me know if it works ok.

I had the same problem using the plugin installer within WP 2.7.1 and version 1.01

Version 1.02 did fix it however I had to go in and disable the file_get_contents to even get the blog to work.

Excellent idea! Just installed this, and it installs fine, but when I try to save a list I get:

Fatal error: Call to undefined function: file_put_contents() in [path…]/domains/www.nomoresandwichesforlunch.com/html/wp-content/plugins/to-do-list/to-do-list.php on line 63

    WordPress is 2.7.

Doh! Found the problem. That particular domain was set to run PHP4, not PHP 5 which is required for that function to work. Disregard my previous comment and thanks for a simple but very nifty and handy plugin!
